Jackie Daly's Music From Sliabh Luachra presents 25 polkas, reels, airs, hornpipes and slides from the northern edge of County Cork played on single reed and Anglo concertinas.  When these recordings first saw the light of day in 1977, Jackie Daly was hailed as the finest accordion player in the country and just one listen to this marvellous, jaw dropping display of solo performances explains why. His sheer mastery of the instrument is inspirational, authoritative and exciting - especially on the trickier moments of the polkas Ballyvournie Polka and Johnny Mickeys and the gorgeous air Banks Of Sullane. Jackie went on to play with De Danann, Patrick Street and Arcady but these recordings still hold a special place in the hearts of Irish folk art connoisseurs.
